AIMS & OBJECTIVES
- Deccan Heritage Academy is envisioned in the promotion of conservation, protection and rehabilitation of both our tangible and intangible cultural heritage of India in particular Deccan Region.
- A Centre of excellence for training and capacity building in the conservation, protection and rehabilitation of intangible and tangible heritage viz., monuments, sites, heritage buildings and rock formation and Cultural Heritagein Telangana State for the benefit of public.
- Works to safeguard Tangible Heritage viz., heritage buildings, artifacts, structures, streets, areas and precincts of historic or aesthetic or architectural or cultural or environmental and biodiversity significance and those natural features of environmental significance,forestsand wildlife and sites of scenic beauty including sacred groves, mountains, hills, hillocks, lakes, rivers, and other water bodies in the Deccan Region.
- Focuses in safeguarding, research, promoting and propagating of Intangible Cultural Heritage viz., Performing arts, Social practices, Rituals and Festive Events, Knowledge and practices concerning nature and the universe, Traditional craftsmanship and any other form of arts and crafts or practices that may emerge in future for the benefit of public in the State of Telangana to respect our age old Customs, Traditions, Culture. Academy also emphasizes to include Cultural heritage studies in school education at an early stage so that they feel concerned about the protection,promotion and preservation of cultural heritage.
- Will facilitate through Experts, Professional Training Programmes, Heritage Site Visits, Orientation Programmes, Heritage Walks to educate and to create awareness on the conservation of tangible and intangible heritage among the students and public.
- Will undertakeStudy, Research, Recording, Documentation and Listing of the Status of Monuments, HeritageBuildings, Sites and Cultural Landscapes within the multi-disciplinary context and disseminate the research to the public.
- To promote the protection of rock heritage through activities and interventions aimed at raising the awareness among the public of respective State Governments.
- Upon the necessity the Academy will also associates with the respective Governments in promoting the preservation, rehabilitation of historic sites and monuments and Cultural Heritage of India.
